Duc d’Huttegem Welsh Cob stud

The Duc d’Huttegem Welsh Cob stud was established in 1965 by the late Jozef Ducatelle, who was treasurer of the Welsh Belgium society for many years. This stud was founded on Rhystyd bloodlines, aiming to breed versatile and safe horses that are suitable and enjoyable for the whole family, from little children to grandparents. Our animals are kept on non-fertilized pasture, as close to their natural state as possible. All of our adult horses go under saddle and in harness. We break them in and train them ourselves, effortless, as the animals trust their handlers. This probably also why they are all traffic proof. Most famous in the early days of the stud was Duc d’Huttegem Welsh Flyer, a lovely stallion and prize winner in hand, under saddle and in harness. Most remarkably, last year, Duc d’Huttegem Bonnediges, great-granddaughter of Welsh Flyer, was ridden by Marie, the great-granddaughter of Jozef, at the Belgian national Welsh show, winning the adult under saddle class. In that same show Bonnediges won the section D in hand championship while being presented by Jozef’s son Richard who was then 70 years old. Over the years, cobs from this stud have been exported to Holland, Germany, Austria, France, U.K. and Sweden.

Willard, Jacorine en Maud Leeuwis

De Weyerd Stud, gevestigd in Nederland, is sinds 2000 actief in het fokken van sectie A en Nwr/Welsh part bred, keuringsklaarmaken alle secties en showen van Welsh pony’s. Met Vechtzicht’s Henol als belangrijke foundation merrie. Uit deze merrielijn werden vele succesvolle pony’s en kampioenen gefokt, waaronder De Weyerd’s Hello Showstar de Weyerds Hunique de Weyerds Halloween en De Weyerd’s Hailey. Door de jaren heen behaalde De Weyerd Stud talrijke successen op regionale, nationale en internationale shows, waaronder veulen -jeugd-, dagkampioenschappen met als hoogte punt het winnen van de Royal Welsh Show in 2022 met De Weyerds Hailey en met het ontvangen van het Welsh Breeder Award WPCS. De stoeterij bracht meerdere goedgekeurde hengsten voort, zoals De Weyerd’s Hello Sanctos en De Weyerd’s Hello I’m Incredible de Weyerds Hello I 'm a Dancer en de Weyerds Hello Sensation. Ook wordt er gefokt in de sectie Nwr/Welsh partbred . De Weyerd Stud gerund door Willard Leeuwis, Jacorine Schutte en hun dochter Maud, die actief is in de dressuur en springsport met meerdere ponies. Met passie voor Welsh pony’s is De Weyerd Stud actief op shows en keuringen door heel Europa.
